The Saddest Day of my Life !! plus 'The Pretenders '

"The Pretenders"

The so called friends who had known Mark for many years, those that worked with him & those that played golf with him some of those did not even recognise his passing. Mark would have called these people "Pretenders" & I agree.  I was so dismayed that these so called friends & acquaintances could not acknowledge him in any way or his passing. One of them whom he played golf with for many many years, & moved up to QLD, to build his million dollar home, in the end didn't really want anything to do with him/us for many many months (nearly 2yrs in fact)!! He was always too busy to even speak to Mark on the phone. Then he rang him on his death bed 2 days before he died !! "WHY" What sort of person does this ? That to me says what a fake human being he is & always possibly was ! Then there was another who played golf with him for 4 years 2/3 times a week but couldn't drive 10 kilometres to see him or ring him !  It's not what you say that counts, nor is it what you'll be judged on, it will always be what you do & how you treat other people, It just shows how much integrity they have, or should I say lack of it I do hope that these that were so uncaring, so self-centred so lacking in empathy that in the end will come to realise just how sad they truly are as human beings. Maybe one day Karma will appear for them & prevail !!

Of course there are those that truly cared & from their heart showed it, not only for Mark but for me also those such as Graeme Howland, a true champion on the golf course & off it, Adam Constable & Kym Elsmore, Raija & Matti, Matti !! who never failed to ring or come & see Mark & my sister & niece. And to so many who have given me condolences & support thru all of it not only on my Facebook page but with personal messages, I do thank them sincerely for caring.

I think it is a sad indictment of so many people today, totally self-centred. My heart is saddened by this, it truly is, but Mark also told me many times that when you grow old no-one cares,  you become forgotten & you become "Invisible" (how true his words have been !!)
